Greenwood Trip – Monday 8th July

We will be leaving the school at 8:30am prompt could you please ensure that children are dropped off at Breakfast Club by 8:20am. If your child requires breakfast before they leave they need to be in breakfast club by 8:00am.

We will be arriving back at school at 4:15pm. Could you please ensure that you keep the Cul-de-Sac clear so that they bus can turn around and park outside the school.

Children will need to bring a packed lunch and drink with them. No glass bottles. They can wear own clothes, but must wear their Ysgol y Foel jumper. Comfy shoes and anorak/ waterproof jacket. We are asking parents not to give the children any spending money for this trip.

Parking at Drop off and Pick up

Could we politely remind parents not to park in Maes Cilan (Cul-de-Sac), the bus stop or the yellow zig-zags. It is for the safety of the children, local residents in cars and the buses using the area to turn.

The Community Council have sent a letter a letter informing the community, there is now no parking on Maes Cilan during scheduled bus hours as it’s causing obstruction for the buses and also the residents that live on Maes Cilan.

We have been awarded a Nature Grant for £500.

Ysgol y Foel school is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Local School Nature Grant, thanks to players of the People’s Postcode Lottery. Our pupils will be benefitting from loose parts kit which will be used to develop their fine motor and design and technology in building items . In addition, staff will receive training to help children learn outdoors. Pupils played an important role in applying for the grant and selected equipment that they felt would benefit their peers. Welcome to Ysgol y Foel!

Thank you for visiting our website. On our site we aim to provide up to date news, information and events the children have been involved with.

Our motto is ‘FOEL’ – Fun, Outstanding, Enriched, Learners and at Ysgol Y Foel you will find a happy and hardworking environment where children enjoy learning and strive to do their best. Our talented and dedicated staff work hard to ensure all children reach their own unique potential and leave Ysgol Y Foel as rounded individuals.

Parents and Governors work in partnership with us to provide a lively, stimulating, caring environment. Together we teach children new skills and develop their knowledge using the latest technology and providing enjoyable and stimulating learning experiences. We have high expectations of all our pupils, both in their work attitude and behaviour.

Ysgol Y Foel is at the centre of Cilcain village set in its own beautiful grounds. These include a developed Forest school site complete with forest fire site, an outdoor classroom and a wildflower and sensory garden. Our purpose built Foundation Phase has its own outdoor area with established areas of learning for the children to develop their skills. Our extensive grounds provide the perfect playtimes with den building and exercise on our trim trail and climbing frame. We encourage our children to apply their skills through problem solving activities at every opportunity.

We are active members of the Mold Consortium and enjoy links with other small schools. These provide our pupils with opportunities to meet and work with others. Wherever we can we seek to enrich our pupils experience through participation in a variety of sporting and creative events.

Our school is at the heart of the community, working and using the expertise of residents to enhance the learning experiences of our children.

This website aims to introduce you to our school. I hope you like what you see and invite you to get in touch if you would like to learn more about us. I am always pleased to meet parents and welcome visits for those considering enrolling their children in our school.
