Wellbeing

Ysgol Y Foel is dedicated to providing assistance for the emotional well-being and mental health of our students, faculty, and parents. We understand that everyone faces difficulties in life that can leave us feeling vulnerable, and there may be times when additional emotional support is necessary. We firmly believe that promoting positive mental health is a responsibility shared by all, and we each have a part to play in this endeavour.

As a school we our aim is to : –

  • help children to understand their emotions and feelings better
  • help children feel comfortable sharing any concerns or worries
  • help children socially to form and maintain relationships
  • promote self esteem and ensure children know that they count
  • encourage children to be confident and ‘dare to be different’
  • help children to develop emotional resilience and to manage setbacks
  • Encourage children to adopt the 5 ways to wellbeing ethos

The 5 ways to wellbeing

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are a set of practical actions aimed at improving our mental health and wellbeing. They were developed by the New Economics Foundation from evidence gathered in the Foresight Mental Capital and Wellbeing Project (2008).

They suggest five simple things we can all do to give our wellbeing a boost, click on the picture to find out more information!

Children’s emotional well-being is just as important as their physical health. Good mental health helps them develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults

In light of this we have created a space were we intend to offer repertoire of resources that are highly beneficial in helping your children understand and make sense of their feelings, click on the picture above to access these. New activities will be added to this page frequently so be sure to check back regularly.
