Hi we are the school Leaders, Jennifer, Toby, Ava and Charlotte. We represent the whole school, making the final decisions on topics that are important to all of us.
On the first day of term our whole school met to decide on what sorts of things we wanted to happen this year in our school. The list was long!!
The school Leaders then met to narrow it down and create a timetable of events.
This year we would like to visit the governors and share our work with them.
Before we start telling you about the school year we have all agreed the charity we will support this year is, Cancer Research.

The rock band assembly
The rock band assembly was very good. He showed us his instruments like The Electric Guitar, Electric Drums, Keyboards and much more. He played songs for everyone pop, Taylor Swift, Pink Pony Club, Rock Songs, Absolute 80’s, Benson Boon and even Mrs O’Neill played with him. Everyone was dancing and singing. It was such fun. We would like him to come back.
Wear Yellow for Mental Health Day
Everyone loved wearing yellow and dressing like cheese!! Some children had a football match that day but it was OPK as the football kits are Yellow too! Once everyone was back in school we decided to watch a film, Chicken Run whilst we enjoyed a hot chocolate and a biscuit and chatted to our friends.
Craft Club
Craft Club was a blast! We had 4 weeks of fun. This wouldn’t have been possible without Mrs Lewis who gave up her own time to run it for us. On the first week we made memory boxes. We made them out of shoe boxes so there was plenty of room to keep our memories. We covered them in paper and decorated them. We also made paper ghosts and pumpkin lanterns, pom poms, keyrings and badges. We can’t wait for the next one.
Cakes after the Harvest Festival.
The Harvest Festival took place in the Chapel this year. KS 2 had a Tudor Theme and Foundation Learners based theirs on Toys from the past and Dogger. We were pleased to see lots of people there as we had delivered invites around the village. After the Harvest Festival we came back to class and ate some of the yummy cakes the parents had made and meanwhile the other members of the community met in The Foundation Learners classroom for coffee, cake and a catch up.
After that we did a fantastic domino run of all the cereal boxes we had collected for Flintshire Foodbank. It was fab to watch!
Pumpkin Patch
On the afternoon of the 23rd October we had a rainy walk to Moel Famau Pumpkins. We were allowed to choose a small pumpkin each to take home. Bethan told us all about how she has looked after them whilst we had a drink of juice.
Halloween Disco
This took place on 23rd October after school and our parents went all out this year decorating the hall. There were disco lights, blow up Halloween characters, giant spiders and a smoke machine. There was face painting, a donut eating game, dancing competitions, bowling with loo rolls, pin the wort on the witch, which was painted by one of our Year 6 pupils and a pumpkin
